Mary was a descendant of the Orams, who had come to Virginia/Maryland in the 1600s or 1700s. Mary's father Thomas Oram was born in Prince George's County, MD in about 1777. He was married to Catherine Lightheiser in Baltimore County in 1800. Came to Fairfield County, OH in about 1804 and was among the first there to buy a parcel of land from the government. In the period about 1812/13 (during the War of 1812), he and his family lived in a fort on the same land where the Treases later moved in the 1820s. Mary was born here in about 1810, and her mother died in about 1812, when Mary was two. Thomas subsequently moved a few miles to the northwest a bit before 1820, and Mary may have met Henry Trease when she came back to visit the farm she had grown up on as a child. Mary was married about age 20 in about 1831. Mother of at least eight children born between 1832 and 1843. Died in 1894 at age 82 or 84 at Lake Fork, Ashland, OH
