Born 1826 at Ditcheat, Somerset, England. Married at age 19 in 1845. Mother of twelve children (eight boys and four girls) between 1845 and 1870, two of whom died as children. Baptized about 1853. To the US in 1854. Two year old Joseph Alma died coming Iowa and Missouri, and Emma give birth to another child about the same time. Organized the first Primary in Ephraim in 1879. Died in 1897 at age 71 in Emery, UT . Known as being an immaculate housekeeper, was outgoing and was a very good singer, often being called on to sing solos at Church. In great demand to take care of the sick, expert in the use of herbs. Many stories of dedication in contributing money to build the Manti Temple.
