Born 1824 in Perry, Ashtabula, OH. About eight when parents joined Church. Expert seamstress; helped support family financially throughout life. Married at age 18 in 1845 in Nauvoo. Endowed 1846 in Nauvoo. Mother of twelve children (eight girls and four boys) born between 1846 and 1863. The first child was born at Winter Quarters, while husband was back in Nauvoo getting supplies. Some scenes of pioneer life: would often glean behind husband; sifted wheat through wedding dress for cake for one year anniversary, 1848}. Raised flax, which she turned into cloth. Sheared sheep for many articles of clothing. In several choirs. Died in 1899 at age 75 in Lewiston, UT.
