Born 1804 in Montgomeryshire, Wales. Married at age 22 in 1827. Mother of nine children (four boys and five girls) born between 1827 and 1848. Joined the Church about 1847. Left England for the US in 1849. Cholera struck the ship on the way up from New Orleans, and 44 year old Phebe and their four year old son Stephen died near St. Louis.
