Born 1826 at Aarnage, Isle of Bornholm, Denmark. Went to Copenhagen to learn tailoring and dressmaking. There in 1850, she accepted the gospel from the first missionaries sent to Denmark. Helped teach the Danish language to the apostle Erastus Snow. Accompanied the Elders to Bornholm to do missionary work. Came to Utah in 1853. Walked across the plains, caring for an invalid, and cooking for eight people. Married at age 29 in 1854. Mother of six children (five sons and one daughter), born between 1856 and 1868, one who died as a child. Lived in a primitive dugout for a while, with roots and weeds their main source of food. Engaged in pioneer industries such as carding, spinning, and weaving. Was more twenty years an active teacher in the Relief Society. Died shortly after husband, in 1909 at age 82 in Lehi, UT.
