Born 1829, possibly at Berriew, Montg., Wales. Joined the Church in about 1847. Emigrated to US 1849. Mother and several siblings died coming up the Mississippi. His father left the Church, and settled in Missouri and Kansas. Married Lucinda Marsh in 1853; no mention of what happened to her. Married Eliza Allen in 1858 in Nebraska. To Utah, 1859; only member of family to come to Utah. In SLC on year, then to Wellesville. In 1867, moved with Allen family to east ridge of Portage Valley, just south of Utah-Idaho border. One of three white families in area. A High Priest, served mission to Kansas trying to reconvert Reorganite family members, including his father. After Eliza's death, remarried and had child; donated some of his land to Church and moved to Marysville, ID. Died in 1903 at age 73 in Twin Groves, ID. Buried in Fremont, ID.
