Born 1792, probably in Tennessee. Married at age 30 in 1822 in Randolph County, IL. To newly-opened lands in Iowa in 1833. Here became acquainted with the Church and were baptized in 1833/34. To Jackson County, MO in about 1834, then to Clay County, and finally Caldwell County about 1835. Lived close enough to the Crooked River to hear the gunfire from the battle in which the apostle David Patten was killed in 1838. Before 1840 moved Adams County, IL, south of Nauvoo. Mobs attacked the area he was living in 1845. He died later that year, perhaps in part because of the problems, at age 53 in Nauvoo, IL.
