Born 1865 in Lehi, UT. Rheumatism at age nine gave him a crippled hip for his whole life. Helped support his father while his father was on a mission. Graduated from BYU in 1886 with Teacher's Diploma. Married in 1887 at age 21. Later acquired postgraduate degree from BYU. Under the direction of Karl G. Maeser, taught for two years in LDS academies in Brigham City (where he organized the academy and was prinipal), and in Richfield. In the early 1890's went into the merchandising business in Rabbit Valley, Piute Co, UT, but went bankrupt in the nationwide depression of 1893-4. Taught in other schools in Utah and Arizona (Gila Valley), and started in farming and beekeeping. Made little money raising sugarbeets in Utah, so went to Salem, Idaho in 1902 to concentrate on sugarbeets and beekeeping. A few years later, house burnt down, and they lost everything but the shirts on their back. Greatly expanded beekeeping activities. Later, started selling life insurance. To Rexburg in 1922. Moved to California in 1925, where he served in many ward and stake callings. Died in 1951 at age 84 in Los Angeles, CA. Known for having "a keen interest in religious, civic, and political affairs" and being "an effective speaker and capable teacher".
