Give the following survey to three people from Utah and three people from outside Utah.  Is there any difference between the two groups? (Please include name, where from, and email for subjects)

1. Pronunciation. Read the following sentences:

  • He fell down this really deep hole

  • Why don't you put more sugar on your cereal?

  • We don't have a swimming pool any more

  • If I don't study more, I'm going to fail the class

2. Morphology. Is there anything in the following passage that doesn't sound quite right to you?

Bill really wanted to get an iPod. He had already boughten a lot of things at Best Buy, so that's where he thought he'd get the iPod as well.

3. Syntax. Which sounds better to you -- A or B (or both):

  • A: I can help who's next

  • B: I can help whoever's next

4. Vocabulary. What sounds best in the following sentence:

Shawn never goes to school anymore.  And if he keeps on (ditching / skipping / sluffing / [other??] ) school, he's going to end up in Juvenile Detention.
